Our stay in the spruce cabin was perfect. The cabin was impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. You can tell Shan and Pete put their heart into creating a relaxing and welcoming space. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at ease. Their hospitality was above and beyond, making the entire experience even more special. It was the ultimate peaceful escape on a stunning white sandy beach. It almost felt like we’d left Ontario. We will definitely be back soon.
Anupaya is magical in every season, and this was our fourth visit. It’s the perfect place to slow down, rest, and truly reconnect with nature. The cabins are beautifully designed with everything you need, thoughtful in every detail, without anything unnecessary. The aesthetic is stunning, and the high-quality linens create a sense of luxury within the simplicity. Shan and Pete are the heart of Anupaya. We booked six cabins for a corporate retreat and could not have chosen a more ideal setting. The property is absolutely spectacular, with breathtaking views of the Ottawa River that provided the perfect backdrop for both reflection and planning. The cabins themselves were exceptionally comfortable—well-appointed, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything needed for self-catering. Shannon arranged catering for our group, and the quality of the food and service far exceeded our expectations. Every detail was taken care of with care and professionalism. Shannon and Peter have built a truly special business. They are outstanding hosts—welcoming, responsive, and clearly committed to creating an exceptional guest experience. We will absolutely return and recommend this location without hesitation for both business and leisure stays.
So serene and peaceful. We are currently staying in the Ivy cabin (sleeps 4) with a stunning view of the Ottawa River. We ordered the scones and sourdough bread which were right out of the oven and tasted incredible with our coffee in the morning. The bean bag chairs on the beach are perfect, the sandy lake and beach are excellent for younger children. We paddled across the river to the Quebec side which was fantastic. We'll definitely be back!
We had the most lovely week at Anupaya! Pete was so kind and always available to help. Great for our little family to unwind and also so much to explore. Would highly recommend.
We first visited Pete and Shan at Anupaya Cabin on Labour Day weekend in 2022. My wife booked it because we were looking for a spot to bring Snoopy with us -- a Shitzu-mut. Snoopy loved it. We loved it. We have just returned from our 8th visit. We love the location, chickens, goats, Pete and Shan's dogs, everything. This was actually our third visit this year. We came in early June, mid-July and this past weekend. I'm sure we'll be booking next Labour Day weekend very soon... and other time there as well.
What a beautiful and relaxing experience! Just the recharge I needed. Loved Kiki and Koko (the cute goats), chickens, and just the overall fall vibes of this cabin. Waking up to the beachfront was so majestic. And being able to gaze at the stars without any light pollution was a pleasant surprise. Thank you Peter for being such a hospitable host. Keep up the good work guys.
We stayed in the Ivy cabin with our family and absolutely loved it. The view of the Ottawa River is beautiful and so peaceful. Shan and Pete are the loveliest hosts—you can tell they’ve put so much heart into this place. Cozy, thoughtful, and just really special. We didn’t want to leave!
